Hunting Knife

As the Blade Craftsman, Woody uses the following procedures to
insure each knife has the quality that has heralded his knives as
cherished heirlooms instead of mere keepsakes.
Starting with the best quality high carbon D-2, or 440-C steel,
Woody cuts out the rough shape of the knife then tempers the bar
steel (heats it cherry red and cools, tempers it according to time
tried formulas) to accommodate the knife of choice. The shaping
and grinding, although crafted by hand, is accomplished with the
latest knife making grinders and equipment.
The blade is ground to shape and polished to a high luster, but
not sharpened. The hilt and butt is fashioned of brass, nickel or
your choice of any metal. The handle is added last and can be out
of a wide range of materials from antler to exotic woods such as
ebony. Inlays are available and/or brass rivets.
Now the blade and handle will be polished with a fine grit including
polishing the hilt and butt. The blade now is sharpened and honed.
The finished custom made knife is polished to mirror-like brightness.
Your new knife looks like a presentation knife, that you would expect
be kept on a self and displayed as a trophy, but has been designed,
engineered and crafted for everyday use.
Hunting knives, sheath knives, skinning knives with or without
gut hooks, filet knives, graduation gifts, birthday presents, corporate
gifts, presentation and retirement awards can be made and engraved
with personal messages or names similar to the Bowie Presentation
Knifes.
